Danica Škreblin

Biography

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2003, Danica is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, under the guidance of renowned professors Łukasz Kuropaczewski and Paolo Pegoraro. Her musical journey began at the Blagoje Bersa Music School in Zagreb, in the class of professor Tomislav Vasilj.

Throughout her studies, Danica has achieved numerous remarkable results and performed as a soloist and a chamber musician at music festivals such as the St. Jerome Chamber Music Festival in Zagreb, the Youngmasters Festival in Samobor, the Bistrički Zvukolik Festival in M. Bistrica, and the Music in the Alps Festival in Bad Gastein, Austria.

She is the winner of multiple international competitions, including first prize in 2018 and second prize in 2021 at the Ida Presti International Guitar Competition. At the Zagreb Guitar Festival Competition, she competed twice (2018 and 2019) and on both occasions claimed first prize, repeating the same success at the Poreč Guitar Festival in those years.

In recognition of her achievements, Danica received the “Professor Baltazar” Award from the City of Zagreb twice, and in 2024, she was awarded first prize at the Sarajevo Guitar Festival, second prize at the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, and second prize at the José Tomás International Competition in Petrer, Spain. In 2025, she earned the Music Journalists' Award at the Baltic Guitar Days Competition.
